I should have added that it's often helpful to pitch the camera up at 70 degrees or so for the zenith instead of +90. The lower edge is then much more likely to contain useful features for alignment purposes and the zenith hole will still be adequately covered. Rotate the head into the most opportune position when you do this - there's no point in giving extra overlap onto a blank white wall!

James, The hov of the lens is just less than 90 degrees in portrait orientation so 4 shots around is not enough to get any overlap at the horizontal level. You must take 5 or preferably 6 shots. The zenith does stitch in, but you need to assign a few points manually in two of the corners where it's just possible to identify some matching features if you zoom in.

Hi John, thanks for the reply :) my images were not stitching in PTGui, I noticed that on import the images were 'rectilinear', Changed it to full frame fish eye and voila :)
I have since changed rotation to 90 deg and there is some patches missing :( and am unable to get the zenith to tie in...
Do you have any suggestions? see link attached.

James, Your images stitch well without any trouble so your setup is pretty good. You've done well. There is just a very small residual amount of parallax, illustrated in the animated gif enclosed with my project file at http://ge.tt/16GFcC62/v/0?c .

Hi John,
Had a read but still struggling, please find the link for the images captured and see if you can identify what I'm doing incorrect.

Your failure to get a decent stitch can be due to poor setup of the panorama head or inexperience with the stitching software (or both). The head can be set up quite adequately in 5-10 minutes. See http://www.johnhpanos.com/epcalib.htm . See also http://wiki.panotools.org/Entrance_Pupil_Database . Stitching software such as PTGui can usually cope quite well with minor inaccuracies in the head setup, but if your images won't stitch, upload a set of half size jpegs to www.gw.tt for example (no need to register), and post link here so we can hopefully identify the cause of the trouble very quickly.

Nikon D800 and 16mm
Hi People,
I have just purchased a Nikon 16mm to use with a D800, I will be using the NN4 with the nadir adapter.
Does anyone use this combo or know the setting LRS/URS and would be willing to share, cause I'm struggling to get a stitched pano
Thanks in advance for your help
regards
Bigjimmy
