      • The motor runs in the opposite direction.

        • Is this about P1 rotator and LEFT and RIGHT are inverted?

I'll look into, is possible that the motor to be inverted P1 vs E1, in which case I'll address that in the next FW.

          • Yes, just checked, the motors are inverted E1 VS P1, I'll address this in next FW.

            Thanks for reporting.

            • Is solved now, sorry for any trouble.

P1 has belt (different type of transmission/reduction) and the motor is inverted, regarding the sense of rotation.
Please set the correct rotator type in either /config (recommended if you don't change it often) or in the UI, in presets,

              Congrats for the P1 !

              BTW,
P1 has 0.06° native resolution (but virtually no play)
E1 has 0.0477..° native resolution, some backlash compensated by FW and kept from play by a friction ring.
E2 has 0.041(6)° native resolution, like E1 - some backlash compensated by FW and kept from play by a friction ring.

Addressed the sense of rotation for P1 rotator, which is opposite than E1 and E2.
All rotators have now the same sense of rotation
If are used combo of MECHAs with different rotators, please set the appropriate rotator type in /config of each MECHA.

              • Hi Dorin,

                I'm testing with E2 & E1 combo now.

An error occurs when an E2 unit is used for the horizontal axis and an E1 unit is used for the vertical axis.

The vertical axis (E1) moves more than the set value.

                Would you check this issue?

                Thanks!

                Shigeru

And, I can not update firmware of E2 from 01485, the sever said "No update found."

In the H MECHA config set as E2
and in the V MECHA config set as E1

                  • I'm currently addressing an issue regarding UI becoming wider than screen (on phones) when certain presets are loaded.

                      • I got my Mecha E2 beta today. In finding out how it works I've notice it has about a 3 degree slack in the gears. so it moves about 3mm back and forth in slack. Also If I do a 360 rotation, it only goes about 300. there's about a 60 degree error. How do I fix these issues??

                        Comment

                        • Congrats for E2,

                          please access /config page
                          user:admin pass:Mecha
and select E2 as rotator then click on [ Apply ]

The 3 degree backlash can be compensated using this procedure
                          pressing [1] [2] [3] [2] [1] [<] buttons of MECHA

If this sounds complicated, I'll compensate my E2 unit and send the compensation value to you and instruct how to enter, it.
The values will be close enough, sure is best if it is done on your unit.

                          ---------------8<-------------------------------------------------------

                          12321< for backlash compensation calibration.
After the code is entered, MECHA will turn slowly to right, then power LED will start flashing.
After that, is need to press [p] (power button) when you see/feel the MECHA starts moving very slightly to left
You can use the viewfinder, LIVE view with zoom, other devices attached like a laser pointer, so on..
or simply feel by hand when that small movement begins.
At the end, the LEDs will show, say, ":24" where 24 is the new calibration factor, is around this value.
You can repeat the code if you want to do it better or have more precise ways to determine the small movement.
You can cancel the procedure with any other button when [p] flashing, or press power button right after it starts flasing to have no compensation at all or it will time-out in 5 minutes if no buttons are pressed.
In the (far) future might be a simple add on to be attached to AUX port to do this completely automatic.

                          • there is no option in the config to select the rotator. There is an option in the row page which fixes the issue but it does not save that selection
