  • struggling to pair 2 x E1s for dual axis

    Hi all,

I've updated both E1s to FW 02051 and have followed the guide "Pairing_MECHA_for_Dual_Axis_Application.pdf" (3 times now!) to pair both E1s, and all seems to go OK but the UI fails to show [H] in upper left hand corner once complete - so I'm assuming the pairing has failed...? How long should I press [1] when powering up? And which LEDs / sequence should display if the pressing of [1] is done correctly (how "wrong" can I press [1]!!!???!!!???!!!???!!?? :-)

    Frustratingly so close!

To press [1 ] is need to press shortly as usual when you press a button, nothing special,
You hear a beep, provided you don't have beep mutted in settings,

To chose AP or STA or AP+STA mode you need to press the buttons when LEDs blink like this

H appear only if access the H MECHA at 192.168.8.1.

    If successfully paired.

MECHA will light 1 LED on H MECHA and 2 LEDs on V MECHA,

like this, after you start both MECHA

You can test a panorama on two axis, even without UI, by pressing these buttons one after another

    [1] [3] [1] [3] [>]

on H MECHA, the lower one,

after the LEDs stops blinking, i.e. when H MECHA is idle.

which is code 1313> and will do a multirow panorama to right
    1. Mecha it possible.
    2. Mecha it easy.
    3. Mecha team up.

There are 2 methods described in this guide. which one are you using?
      https://www.nodalninja.com/manual#mecha-11
chances are you connecting to MECHA via a hotspot or access point. The guide also mention this scenario.

I'll publish today a FW update to be more clear when MECHAs are paired regardless of what pairing mode is used and in which Wi-Fi mode MECHAs are.

        2. Mecha it easy.
        3. Mecha team up.

I've been trying the first method - and all goes according to plan until I re-connect to the horizontal MECHA. They're obviously not paired because after Step 12, no LEDs show on either MECHA and I am left connected only to the horizontal MECHA without an [H] in the UI:

I've just tried pairing with buttons only, and only get 2 short beeps at Stage 2., not 5 beeps.

Both MECHAs are same firmware version FW 02051?
Also power up H MECHA first and then V MECHA

Yes, both MECHAs on the same FW, 02051.
Yes, I have been powering up [H] first, as per the instructions, then [V]. Does it matter which MECHA you choose to be [H] or [V]? It can't do, as they're both the same models "out of the box"......

Should work without any problems with buttons only method

                  1) Start both MECHAs
                  2) wait until LEDs are not lit on both MECHA and you hear beeps
                  3) enter 01231231> on H MECHA
Note: here might be the issue, after pressing 0 the battery level shows, so wait a bit then press 1231231>
so when you enter 01231231> code you need to hear beep after each button pressed,
                  4) you'll hear 5 beeps after a while (10 seconds or so)
                  5) enter 01231231> on V MECHA (the same note as for H MECHA)
                  6) after couple of seconds, you should see - on H MECHA and = on V MECHA.

Now, they should be paired and even after restart of both MECHA will be paired.

If using the instructions above, the SSID name for H MECHA will be
                  MECHA-H123
                  and the password will be
                  01231231

for V MECHA the SSID name will be MECHA-V123
and the password will be the same
                  01231231

As I said, will be a bit easier after FW update today,
                  1. Mecha it possible.
                  2. Mecha it easy.
                  3. Mecha team up.

Well, this loks more promising! Seems to have worked, after a few goes, with Buttons Only:
