  • Power Bank for DAC E2/C1

Could I ask what are the power requirements and mounting and cable routing recommendations for a power bank with dual USB ports to power a Dual-axis Mecha E2/C1 with NN6?

each port should deliver at least 1.5A current.

The battery should last for many hours after a full charge. SO it is best to charge the battery in-between use.
If you really need to use a power bank during a sequence, eg for very long timelapse, you can strap the power bank to lower rail with a velcro.

I expect to shoot 50+ panos each requiring 60 shots. It will be outdoors with the camera bring moved to a new location for each pano. Testing shows it takes about 5 minutes to shoot each pano. I think it will take about 3 minutes to move and setup the camera at each position. So total shooting time could be about 7 hours (54 × 8 = 432 min). Do you think the batteries will last?

It will depend on the load.
Using a 1.5kg dummy camera, E1 will last 16 hrs for 6 shots around followed by a pause of 6s. E2 is more power hungry and last for 11 hrs only.
On vertical rotator, battery consumption will vary. Why not test your set up at home and report back?

The payload is a Sony A7R3 with either a 24mm or 35mm lens. I plan to test. There will be a break period about half-way during the shoot so that time could be used to charge. Do you have any data on charging time from 0 to 50%, 50% to 100%, 75% to 100%, etc?

half charge should take 2 hours.

It would have been nice if the Mecha supported removable batteries. Any future plans?

If you don' want to use MECHA while the charging cable is connected, you can set in /config of both

When Charging: [ Turn OFF ]

That will result in faster charging.
                    1. Mecha it possible.
                    2. Mecha it easy.
                    3. Mecha team up.

Thank you. Good suggestion. Do you have any data on how much faster it charges?

Also, what is the capacity of the internal batteries?

The charging is faster because less consumption of the battery is made by some modules.

If you charge in the half-way break will be fine,
it can even last for the entire session, please let us know how it went

                            How many NCR18650GA per E1?

E1 is the rotator, no batteries inside.

C1 is the controller with battery, 2 x NCR18650GA inside of each controller
