  • Firm up from # 1369

    Hi all
I am returned user and My E1 FW is 1369.
Tried to up date many times today but no success.
Is my E1 too old to up date or am I doing something wrong?
    Any information is appreciated.

You updated successfully in the past, right? Here is a step by step guide. Notice that old firmware may take longer to update to latest as there may be incremental update needed.

I see no attempts for update from 1369 FW on server log recently.

Please try to connect MECHA to a Wi-Fi (SSID) with Internet access
      then try to update again.
      1. Mecha it possible.
      2. Mecha it easy.

Just tested one MECHA with 01369

        192.168.8.1/new
        click/tap on [ Update ]
enter SSID name and password of a Wi-Fi network with Internet access

this is like a friend coming to your home and ask if you have a Wi-Fi and pass available
he/she can use to check his/her FB account.

in the same way, MECHA needs that Wi-Fi to perform the update.

then the unit updated successfully to 01485 which is the last FW in 1st generation.
please confirm when this step was successfully made.

Then, you'll need to update to the latest C1E_02075 (2nd generation)
and for that you can follow the guide kindly suggested by Nick,
the procedure basically ask for a backup of data (presets, so on..)
in a file, first, and after update, that file will be used to restore the data.

And so you can benefit of all new features added along one year from the release of 1369

        2. Mecha it easy.

          Thanks Nick and Dorin
I understand what you said and typing in the SSID and password of my home Wi-Fi.
But I could not get #01485 yet.
Very strange! It should not difficult job to do.
I may try other SSID and password at office.

MECHA has some alternative automated ways to update, without need to enter something in MECHA.

E.g. in your particular case if you have Internet on your phone (3g-4g so on)

You can set an hot-spot on your phone with exact this name and password

            M-6AA0D5
            12345678

make sure the hot-spot is active
            then start MECHA and when LEDs shows - = - = - = - = press and hold [ 3 ] for 3 seconds, until you hear beeps.

MECHA will connect to that hot-spot and will perform the update.

that hot-spot name is valid only for that specific unit of MECHA C1 controller.

After the update is finished you can deactivate the hot-spot.
            1. Mecha it possible.
            2. Mecha it easy.
            3. Mecha team up.

Look at methods of using Windows or Mac to share wifi internet access with MECHA.

It is good to know the ip assigned to your MECHA by your home wifi. Then you can assess it by typing its ip in the browser address.
You can use the LED to decode the IP assigned as detailed in the above guide.
You can also use some helper app to scan the devices on your network. On windows, you can use the portable (zipped) version of Wireless Network Watcher v2.21
                http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireles...k_watcher.html
on Mac, please find a list of tool here.

                    Dorin, Nick
I succeeded to get #01485 by using hot spot method.
                    Thank you so much!
                    You are the best!
