  • Wait AFTER the head movement and BEFORE triggering the camera

    Hello,

As you didn’t answer the last question of my previous post, I give more details in this one.

I have a Mecha C2 on the top of a pool inside a dark area (for instance a church) with a long exposure time (3s).

Every time the head reaches its next position, the pool moves a little bit, and I have to wait for the pole to be motionless before triggering the shutter, otherwise the photo will be blurred.

    I have 2 options :
    • set a pause AFTER the head movement (eg 10s after each movement and before each trigger), and then trigger the camera (and set another wait after for the long exposure)
    • I can wait until the head is still, and then trigger manually through the UI, go to the next position, wait, trigger etc..

With this URL : http://192.168.8.1/preset?b=1&s=12&p=2 I can add a wait AFTER the trigger (p=2)

Is there a way to to set the parameters I need (pause each step / wait BEFORE triggering) through an url ?

In a previous post you told me to use the “e” parameter, but it is for exposure delay, not for waiting before triggering.

By the way, is there a possibility to set a ramp to the movements ? I mean accelerate/decelerate, so the head movement would be smoother than the actual linear mode and the head would less move after the movement. This could help when the head is at the top of a pole.

    Best regards
    Philippe

Great ! When do you think this will be added ?
I have to take these photos on next tuesday... But if there is another way, just tell me how I can do, maybe using the UI ?
      Best regards

Yes, it was possible from UI and via other kind of url, as every save can be sent as URL, or using the OLED menu.

        You can update now.
you can also change the motion profile using the newly added "pf" parametter test which one suits you best

        ----8<-------------------------------

        C2E_12416
Added "bf" parameter, for the "before" delay,
and "pf" parameter, for the "profile" setting, which can be "medium" (default) , "ring", "light", "heavy" and "constant"
they can be passed when creating a preset via an url, e.g.

        Code:
        http://192.168.8.1/preset?b=1&s=12&p=2&bf=5&pf=heavy
        1. Mecha it possible.
        2. Mecha it easy.

Fantastic ! Awesome ! These 2 parameters are very interesting to me. Maybe there could be some more ramping, more than "heavy", or perhaps - as this should be a "numeric" parameter, let the user choose its value, between linear (0) and an acceleration until the middle of the move, then decelerate to the end (100 ?).

Another question : as I made several attemps, I have in the UI several presets for the same "button" number. Which is the best way to delete / clear / empty several presets ? I didn't find any reference about this in the doc ? Adding an url with the same button seems to add a new preset instead of replacing the old one...

About the motion profiles, I'll not enter into details

            here is a comparation though.

Using UI or OLED Menu you can change the microstepping as well

About the deletion of a preset added via an url,

With the latest 12419 FW, you can use this way

            192.168.8.1/preset?b=031&lb=my_preset&s=12&p=2&bf=5&pf=heavy

the preset will be created in 031 page on OLED Menu and you can edit it with [+] or delete it witth [-] button
